Description
Maurice Garin was the first ever winner of the Tour de France. He rode mostly on gravel, and thus cycling trends come full circle. Gravel is now the place to ride, once again, and our most modern randonneur -some people call it a gravel bike- honors Maurice for his monumental win.
The Maurice Garin has the roots of a road bike. It is made for Shimano 105 or GRX with two front chainrings, disc brakes, wide tires, and all possible mouting options for water bottles, fenders, front and rear rack. It also implements the unique Ozon offset seat tube for front derrailleur mounting as well as internal cable routing. The Maurice feels at home on rough country roads, but you can just as well pop some 28mm slicks on the rims and take the Maurice for a serious road ride.
The frame is designed for the Columbus “Futura Cross” or “Futura Cross+” forks. These which have two offset options allowing you to tailor the feel of the bike depending on your tire width, front load weight, or personal taste.
